Migz-Maya duo launches first album
Star Music presented acoustic duo Migz and Maya on their grand press launch Thursday of their first album.
“We are very excited. Sana po ay suportahan nila, sobra pong pinagpaguran namin lahat ng ito at sana ay magustuhan nila at ma-enjoy nila, katulad ng pag-enjoy namin sa paggawa ng album na ito”, Maya said as she fondly held their baby album.
“Sobrang kinabahan po talaga kami the past weeks kasi pinaghandaan po talaga namin ‘to,” said Migz as they both face the entertainment press.
Migz and Maya are said to be Star Music’s first acoustic duo to do a full-length project together.
Prior their musical union, Maya was part of Pan-Asian girl group Blush based in the US and Migz rose to fame because of his YouTube covers.
The two are very thankful that Star Music has given them the opportunity to showcase their music and their talent. They reached mainstream fame when they did a cover of the Himig Handog P-Pop Love Songs 2016 entry “Ambon,” which is also the theme song of the movie “How to Be Yours.”
Their first album is full track with 16 songs mostly covers with a few originals. Included in it are “One More Chance,” “Suntok sa Buwan”, “Paano na Kaya,” “Ipagpatawad Mo,” “Mahal Mo o Mahal Ako,” “Hibang,” “Stay,” “Makita Kang Muli” and “Lihim,” which is Migz’s own composition.
The album is considered yet to be the “Hugot” album of the year.
At present, the two are having regular gigs and one of their goals is to sing a song for a “teleserye” (TV series).
“Hopefully sana, ‘yan talaga ung gusto naming gawin next,” Maya said.
Yet despite being a duo and spending so much time together, the two are quick to clarify that they are not in a relationship and are just really close friends.
“Para na po kaming magkapatid,” Migz said.
Maya is known to be dating Kapamilya hunk actor Geoff Eigenmann and is currently happy with her state of heart.
“Sobrang supportive kami sa isa’t-isa ngayon at nagiging inspiration namin ang isa’t-isa,” Maya said.
