Ogie still a delight to watch
Jacqui Flores, office employee: “Ogie Alcasid was a delight to watch when he guested in ‘Magandang Buhay’ recently. The gifted singer-songwriter regaled the audience with his effortless performance. Ogie and Jaya’s duet of ‘Bakit Ngayon Ka Lang?’ and ‘Hanggang Ngayon’ sounded fresh and soulful.”
Other notes:
Vilma Mandac, televiewer: “‘Eat Bulaga’s’ ‘Music Hero’ segment proves that Pinoys are not just good singers—they can also go global as instrumentalists. National Youth Commission chair Aiza Seguerra is right in saying that this is the kind of pastime young people can focus on. It also proves that even noontime shows can do a lot to showcase Pinoy talent in various fields.”
Jose Mari Maycacayan, marketing consultant: “All of this year’s Cinemalaya entries are above average. The best performances were turned in by Tommy Abuel (‘Dagsin’), Nora Aunor (‘Tuos’), Judy Ann Santos (‘Kusina’), Pokwang (‘Mercury is Mine’), Lollie Mara (‘Bagong Pamilya ni Ponching’) and Allen Dizon (‘Lando at Bugoy’).”
Ellen Alejano, business analyst: “Nora Aunor need not prove anything more. At this point in her career, awards and accolades are just bonuses. When she churns out fine performances, viewers can only be grateful.”
