In 2014, Cyrus had herself escorted to the VMA awards rites by Helt, who received for her the “Video of the Year” award, to raise awareness about the plight of homeless Americans and encourage her colleagues to donate to charity. Since then, the homeless man kept her statuette until he decided to sell it on the e-commerce website.

The statuette, which was described as “in mint condition, very rare one of a kind, no fingerprints,” was reportedly sold for $60, 211 (P2.8 million) after 53 laborious bids. According to entertainment news site People, the price began at $10,300 dollars (P480,500) until it unexpectedly climbed up six times the base price.

According to TMZ, Helt, an expectant father, lives in a flat at Los Angeles, California, and wishes to sell the trophy for additional funds.  Gianna Francesca Catolico
