Hugh Jackman is truly hanging up his metal claws for good and the Australian actor is marking the occasion by shedding Wolverine’s iconic facial hair for the last time.
On Monday (Tuesday in Manila),the 47-year-old took to Instagram to document himself shaving the iconic clawed mutant’s trademark beard and mutton chops.

“My wife is going to be very happy,” he captioned the video with the hashtag #GoodbyeChops, a nod to Wolverine’s signature scruff.
Jackman recently wrapped up filming for the last standalone “Wolverine” film, set to be released next year.
His clip has all but confirmed that this will indeed be the final time he’ll bring life to one of the X-Men franchise’s most central figures—a role he has been portraying since 2000.
“This will be my last one,” Jackman told Entertainment Weekly in May last year. “It is my last time. It felt like it was the right time to do it. Seventeen years, I never thought in a million years it would last this long.”
Although nothing is confirmed yet, the remnants of Hugh’s shaven beard had streaks of gray to it, lending to popular theories the currently untitled third “Wolverine” film will follow the Old Man Logan story line from the comics—in which a grizzled Wolverine fights for survival.
Patrick Stewart will also reportedly reprise his role as Professor X for the last time, while “Narcos” star Boyd Holbrook will pose as an unnamed villain.
Much like the surprise of last summer’s blockbuster superhero hit “Deadpool,” “Wolverine 3” is confirmed to be rated R and will be shown on cinemas on March 3, 2017. Khristian Ibarrola
