Kiko Matos aspires to be MMA fighter
His name grabbed the entertainment headlines after his bar fight with fellow actor Baron Geisler, which led to their Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) fight that ended in a draw. But after resolving their rage in the cage, it looks like Kiko Matos wants to take on MMA for real.
In yet another leaked video, Matos was seen talking to Universal Reality Combat Championship (URCC) matchmaker and Fight Farm Series producer / host Ronald Joseph Catunao asking if he could officially and legitimately get himself involved in a cage fight.
“Sana makalaban talaga ‘ko officially pero hopefully I can do your training, train with the fighters from Fight Farm and hopefully I can land a match maybe amateur or pro-amateur,” Matos said in the video.
Catunao welcomed Matos’ aspiration but explained the reality of the situation.
“Hindi ko maipapangako sa ‘yo na makakalaban mo yung mga nasa Fight Farm mismo but I guarantee you na ang makakalaban mo since gusto mo talaga lumaban ay talagang MMA fighters, amateur MMA fighters. Either you fight sa Fight Farm or you fight sa Academy Fighting Championship,” Catunao told Matos .

He will be facing legitimate fighters with no flair for show-biz drama but who are downright determined to win and take him down.

“Yes I understand,” Matos answered back.
Having experienced a taste of MMA, Geisler’s former opponent says he has a certain level of awareness about the sport and that he has thought through his decision very carefully.
