Match made in heaven

SANTOS AND ZAMBRANO. So in love.

Emy Sinco, televiewer: “It seemed like Valentine’s Day in August in a recent episode of ‘Tonight with Arnold Clavio’ when it featured the lovely couple, actress-singer Aicelle Santos and GMA news reporter Mark Zambrano.

“It was an entertaining and heartwarming feature on the couple’s love story, made more eventful by Aicelle’s inspired rendition of love songs. Their appearance in the show seemed to suggest that theirs is a match made in heaven!”

Other notes:

Rizza Calumpong, housewife: “Donna Cruz chose marriage over a blossoming show biz career. I saw her in a video singing a duet with her ‘Do Re Mi’ costar, Regine Velazquez, and she looked like she hasn’t changed at all—despite motherhood, she looked as lovely and sweet as ever! Her singing voice still has a bell-like quality that complemented Regine’s vocals well. After her comeback album, I hope she will also return to acting.”

Jose Mari Maycacayan, marketing consultant: “Two exceptional actors on television these days are Dennis Trillo of ‘Juan Happy Love Story’ and Rafael Rossel in ‘Sinungaling Mong Puso.’ Dennis’ facial expressions are just right, and Rafael ‘underacts’ and minimizes his movements.  I hope they’re also given complex roles on the big screen.

“On the big screen, Alden Richards and Maine Mendoza’s ‘Imagine You & Me’ is, for the most part, satisfying. The production design is outstanding.  The better performer is Alden, who delivers a relaxed performance. Maine has excessive and distracting facial mannerisms.”

Amor Riconalla, retired teacher: “I have been watching ‘Tawag ng Tanghalan’ religiously and have observed that its champions and the day’s winners are spared from the dreaded gong, even when they sound flat or sharp. Can the production also apply the rule of the gong to them, for the sake of fairness?”
