Nickelodeon reveals character sketches for ‘Hey! Arnold’ film

American cartoon TV network Nickelodeon has showcased updated character designs for “Hey! Arnold: The Jungle Movie,” a sequel to the classic children’s cartoon that went off-air in 2004.

The sketches were presented at Nickelodeon’s Comic-Con 2016 panel “Happy! Happy! Joy! Joy!: 25 Years of Nickelodeon Original Animation” being held in San Diego, California, this week.

According to tech news site Polygon, Barlett displayed a picture of Arnold’s parents standing on a lonely island and “swung over a waterfall on a vine.”

“It’s very meta and it answers just about every fan question I’ve ever gotten from fans over the years,” Bartlett said during the conference. “The biggest question the movie will answer is who Arnold’s parents are and what happened to them.” He also said he had received truckloads of e-mails in 1996 from the show’s fans who asked about Arnold’s parents and Helga’s “miserable” behavior.

“Hey! Arnold: The Jungle Movie” will trace hints of the enigmatic whereabouts of Arnold’s parents, E! News reported.

Craig Bartlett wrote the film and Nickelodeon Animation Studios will produce the sequel, which will premiere in November 2017.  Gianna Francesca Catolico
