Say “Aloha” to Disney’s newest member of its expanding multiracial family.
The entertainment conglomerate debuted an international trailer of “Moana” on YouTube on Wednesday, subtitled in Japanese. The trailer accentuates the life of a 16-year-old Disney princess since she was an infant as she discovers her roots in the Pacific Blue ocean and sets for a memorable voyage in an island where expeditions are forbidden.

American actor and professional wrestler Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson will voice the demigod Maui and 14-year-old Auli’i Cravalho will voice the heroine Moana. Cravalho, a Hawaiian native, was chosen among thousands of girls who auditioned for the role last year.
One of the film’s theme songs to be played in this tropical film is “Vai Mahina” by Te Vaka, a popular Oceanic band. Other singers who will grace the film are Opetaia Foa’i, Mark Mancina, and Lin-Manuel Miranda.
The movie will be released on November 23 in the US and November 30 in the Philippines. Gianna Francesca Catolico
