Dance moves from Kpop group GFriend‘s ‘NAVILLERA’ explained

SOUTH KOREA — Since K-pop group GFriend released their EP “LOL” on Monday, its title track “NAVILLERA” has been sweeping the main local charts.

With a lively pop rock rhythm and powerful choreography, the song tells the story of a girl who wants to express her feelings to the person she loves.

Recently, some of the eye-catching dance moves have been gaining attention for corresponding with the lyrics.

The four main dance moves to “NAVILLERA” are: “butakhae (don’t let me down),” “disco dance,” “sijakjeom (starting point),” and “butterfly.”

“Butakhae” is a move where the dancer covers her mouth with her hand and then makes a V shape under her chin with a thumb and index finger.

The “disco” is when the members joyfully move the tips of their feet side by side during the song’s interlude.

The “sijakjeom” is when the members position themselves in a single line with a gesture of relay. This dance is done right after the song‘s first chorus.

Lastly, the “butterfly” is a movement easily done with two hands moving upward with a shape of a butterfly, corresponding to the main chorus’ lyrics saying, “na na na navillera.”
