Cesar Montano is ecstatic to be part of ABS-CBN’s hit show “Ang Probinsyano,” topbilled by Coco Martin. “I just want to share the good news that my first appearance on the show garnered a 44.2-percent rating,” Buboy (Cesar’s nickname) beamed.
“I play a hitman but I only kill policemen. Coco is involved in every aspect of the show. He also contributes to story embellishment. I like how he leads his team. He would make a great director someday.”
Buboy enjoys working with Coco, so they are planning to do a remake of his movie, “Utol.” That would be a perfect project for them, since they could really pass for brothers. Cesar and Coco have that Pinoy Adonis charm and are oozing with talent.
The “CM” duo is quite a formidable combination. Zoom, zoom CM 1 and 2!
Anniversary
Tita Boots Anson-Roa seemed like a giddy high school girl when Tito King Rodrigo recited “Maria Elisa,” his love poem for her at their recent third wedding anniversary bash.
(The title of the poem is Tita Boots’ full name.)
He gave her a two-karat heart-shaped diamond ring. According to Tita Boots, the ring serves as his Christmas, birthday, Valentine and anniversary gift, all in one. She gave him a gilded leather Filipino Bible plus a His-and-Hers watch set.
Boots and King’s love story is a source of hope for widows and widowers like them.
“Love keeps us young,” Boots quipped. “So widows must not deprive themselves of second chances. They must not let age be a deterrent.”
Her advice for young couples? “Marriage is a decision and a commitment. It should be laced with the gift of humor which teaches us to laugh at ourselves and our foibles,” she pointed out. “Marriage is not a 50-50 arrangement; beyond ‘give and take,’ it should be ‘give and give.’ The ‘taking’ will take care of itself.”
Take it from the forever honeymooners who are each other’s sunlight as well as twilight.
Fighting chance
Gilas Pilipinas did not exactly lose in the Fiba Olympic Qualifying Tournament. They almost won. Our national team players had a fighting chance. Considering that it was their first time to compete at the highest level of world basketball, vying for the much-coveted Olympic slot, Gilas fared quite well. Too bad that the fire in them was not enough to burn out the more seasoned teams of France and New Zealand.
Hopefully, next time around, the road to the Olympics will no longer be under repair for Gilas.
Personal
Thanks so much to the gracious staffers of Kultura in SM MOA Bay City—Luisa Roxas, Vanessa Guillermo and Ritchel Lorico—for their A-1 service.
