For three decades now, dzMM has been a bastion of news, information and entertainment to Filipino listeners. On its 30th anniversary, it is unveiling a new station ID that shows its anchors and reporters looking back on their biggest coverages.

It will also hold a blood donation activity at Fishermall in Quezon City on July 23, and a dzMM Grand Kapamilya day on July 21 at the San Andres Sports Complex in Manila, which includes a medical mission and storytelling for kids.

On ‘Art 2 Art’

On July 10, program host Lisa Macuja talks to Philippine Board of Books for Young People head Tarie Sabido about National Children’s Book Day (July 19). Other features for the month: Pao Gumba on the ukelele, July 17; Atlanta Ballet danseur Jared Tan, July 24; actress Roselyn Perez, July 31. “Art 2 Art” airs Sundays at 3:30 p.m. on dzRH and RHTV.

‘Eye in the Sky’

Helen Mirren stars in the contemporary international thriller, “Eye in the Sky,” which explores the shadowy world of remotely piloted drone warfare. The film, which opens on July 20, also stars Aaron Paul (“Breaking Bad”) and the late Alan Rickman (“Harry Potter”).

The new suspense thriller, “The Purge: Election Year,” cost only $10 million to produce, but grossed an impressive $30 million on its opening weekend. Universal Pictures credits the spot-on timing of its election-themed film during an election year for eliciting viewers’ special interest.
