Enchong continues to make waves

ENCHONG Dee has no qualms about being paired with comedienne Kiray Celis  in Regal Entertainment’s  romantic horror comedy, “I Love You to Death” (opens tomorrow). He is game for anything. The champion swimmer is not one who would just go with the flow. He continues to make waves.

Here’s my tête-à-tête with Enchong:

What’s the craziest thing you did for love?

I waited five hours outside her house just to have a glimpse of her.

How do you handle bashers?

I simply block them.

Do gay rumors affect you?

Not at all. There’s no reason to be affected by them.

What turns you on and turns you off?

Confidence and humility turn me on. Know-it-all and foulmouthed people turn me off.

What has fame taught you?

That a lot of things and people in this world are temporary.

Would you say that you and Kiray have chemistry?

Definitely.  When both of the actors are driven to do what the scene is asking for, you dance smoothly and automatically to the demand of the director. We were synched in every situation because we knew what was needed of us. We jibe because we do our homework before filming.

What are your cheap thrills?

Driving on a road with no traffic, playing loud music with my windows open.

What is the most expensive thing you bought?

A building.

What was a life-changing moment for you?

When I first performed outside the country—it was a Star Magic concert in Los Angeles and San Francisco. I realized how much I love being onstage and performing for thousands of people.

What are you most proud of?

How I treat people.
