Ralph (Mark’s real name) sheds his on-screen toughie image and lets his soft side show when it comes to his kids.
Under that spell
My BFF Cesar Montano is all agog for his new sitcom with Iza Calzado, “Andres de Saya” (GMA 7, weeknights after “24 Oras”).
What are the instances when he is ander de saya to his wifey Sunshine? “When we are abroad I do the laundry, ironing and cooking,” he reveals. “When I’m out late and Shine calls, uwi ako agad. Sansui ako—Sang Sutsut Uwi.”
One proof that Buboy is under Shine’s spell is his composition “Patawarin,” which is his favorite cut on his self-titled second album.
“I wrote that song for my wife,” he says. “It serves as my act of contrition. Awa ng Diyos di naman mabigat ang penance (laughs) because Shine has such a forgiving heart.”
There’s nothing Buboy would not do for Shine. He’s a husband over and beyond the call of duty (and booty)!
25 long years
Bong Revilla and Lani Mercado will renew their wedding vows on their silver anniversary on May 28. Name it, the power couple has been through it.
The greatest lesson she has learned after 25 years of marriage?
“The keys to a lasting marriage are three P’s: Prayer, Patience and Perseverance,” she says.
What is it that she loves most about Bong? “Aside from being my husband, he is also my friend,” she says, beaming “He is my No. 1 critic and supporter.”
Congrats to my dear friends Bong and Lani. For someone like me who’s on the verge of disbelieving in love that lasts forever, you make me see that marriage is no mirage after all.
Women empowerment
It was such a delight to be one of the judges in Miss Makati 2011’s Best in Swimsuit competition held at Hotel Intercon last Thursday. As the 24 curvaceous candidates sashayed on stage, I was secretly wishing that they could lend me their bodies even for a day.
Mayor Junjun Binay said the pageant’s goal is to promote women empowerment. Coronation night will be held at the Makati Coliseum on May 28. The country’s financial district is now also a Beauty Capital.
20th anniversary
Sta. Lucia Mall is celebrating its 20th anniversary with a bang. The finalists of Generation East will strut their stuff in the Spotlight Fashion Show on May 27. The grand finals of the Search for Little Stars 2011 is set on May 28, 4 p.m. at the Entertainment Center Phase 3 with Bea Binene, Isabel Frial and Renz Valerio. Lucia Mania!
