Actor Baron Geisler has made the headlines countless times  when he got into bar brawls, street fights and even sexual assaults, but didn’t you know he has figured in countless other fights that had gone unnoticed by the mainstream and social media?

‘Sanay sa street fights’

“Sanay ako sa street fights. Of course. Sobrang dami. That’s why narealize ko din, oh this is a really good opportunity to fight in the cage para rin magkadisiplina kami pati na rin yung mga tao na o if you wanna settle your differences, sa cage na lang or at least, bumili kayong gloves, punta kayo sa isang gym, suntukan kayo dun, tignan natin kung sinong ano,” he tells INQUIRER.net in an exclusive interview last Wednesday.

Geisler admits he got into several other unpublicized fights, but vows to change for the better, that is, avoid trouble.

“Kasi I’ve learned my lesson na rin because I want to change na rin eh, I want to change my ways coz like kunwari pupunta ko sa bar diyan, ngayon takot na ko, peace mode na rin ako, eh, ayoko na ng may mga kaaway, eh. Ayoko rin na may nilolokong babae, ayokong may nasasaktan na ganon. So somehow, I just want to make peace with everyone that I’ve hurt, physically, emotionally and probably verbally na rin as well.

Despite his brutish image, Geisler stresses, “I never hit women.”

The award-winning actor admits he takes delight in drinking, and also discloses that he is “semi-bipolar” and under medication; however, he refuses to take medicines because of its “effects” on him.

I love to drink. I’m semi-bipolar. I don’t like taking my meds because it makes me slow. It makes me super-slow like when I work. That’s why I really need to exercise, wake-up call na rin ‘to for me, I guess”, Geisler says.

‘Beast mode’

Under his “normal” state of mind, he claims to be in his best version, but once he’s “provoked,” his “other” personality takes the better of him, and with the number of brawls to his name, it is apparent that he has been provoked many times in the past.

“I have an alter ego, that’s the beast mode Baron. When I’m sober, I’m the sweetest guy ever, kahit naman nakainom, sweet rin naman ako but there are levels kasi eh. Merong Baron 1 and Baron 2 ‘pag umiinom,” he says.

Let’s get to know more of the two Barons.

“Baron 1 pag lasing or nakainom lang ng tipsy he’s very nakakatawa, he makes jokes, he’s very malambing he’s very caring. I’m very aware sa surroundings ko.”

But when the going gets rough and Baron 1 gets “provoked,” Baron 2 comes to the rescue and the rumble begins.

“And then Baron 2 is the I-don’t-care guy, tara let’s go sapakan na.”

When Baron 2 takes over his persona, he loses control and is in “beast mode,” ready to take on his opponents.

“Like diyan lang sa kanto jan, I wanna apologize to these guys, nabibigwasan ko talaga and they’d run. Kahit na ka-height ko, mag-gagrapple din kami eh, and then fight, pero hindi kaya, tatakbo (his opponents). (As to attacking without reason) May cause naman, pero hindi ako umuurong, ‘wag lang pag lima sila, pero pag one-on-one na parang may magbabastos sakin, di ako aatras, but I wanna apologize that’s why I’m confident to fight Kiko Matos.”

What Baron will face Kiko Matos?

Who of his two personas will face fellow indie film Kiko Matos in the ring on June 25?

“I think Baron 2, but it has to be the sober Baron 2, pero I have to unleash it eh. So every day I’ve been visualizing the fight, I’ve been visualizing my victory, I’ve been visualizing all this, whatever moves to come, so kailangan yung reflexes ko talaga, kailangan mabilis, eh”, he says.
