ORIGINALLY slated as a two-night event, the coming Manila concert of the 1980s British pop band Culture Club has been trimmed down to a one-night event, due to “logistical travel issues beyond their control.”

The show, mounted by Royal Chimes Concerts and Events, is now set on June 18 at the Smart Araneta Coliseum. The promoter said that fans who had already purchased tickets to the June 17 concert could either have them refunded or exchanged to June 18 tickets (call 911-5555).

Led by Boy George, the eclectic group behind the smash hits, “Karma Chameleon,” “Love is Love” and “The War Song,” is currently on a 40-city world tour. “We love doing shows, especially in places we have never been in,” said Boy George at a video conference earlier this year.

Selena Gomez’s ‘Revival’

Pop star-actress Selena Gomez, who rose to fame in the late 2000s after starring in the TV show, “Wizards of Waverly Place,” will have a one-night show on July 31 at the SM Mall of Asia Arena.

The concert is part of her world tour, “The Revival,” which was launched in support of her second album of the same title (Wilbros Live; call 470-2222 or 374-2222).

SELENA Gomez

The 23-year-old American recording artist was previously set to visit Manila in 2014. She was part of the electro-pop group Selena Gomez & the Scene, which was behind the hit song, “Love You Like a Love Song.”

She went solo afterwards and released two albums—the latest one spawning such hits as “Same Old Love” and “Hands to Myself.”

Aside from her music and acting career, the former Disney star is also engaged in different philanthropic efforts, and was named the youngest Unicef goodwill ambassador, back when she was 18.
