For her return to acting as a villain in GMA 7’s “Magkaibang Mundo,” Gina Alajar, who has been focusing on directing for the past four years, has dyed her hair platinum blonde—and she’s loving it.
“I didn’t have qualms when the creative team told me that I needed to change my hair color. I was actually excited. Now I’m enjoying it!” she told the Inquirer. “My grandchildren were curious—they kept asking me why my hair was ‘white.’”
Working as an actress has been a treat so far, she said, adding that she has missed the feeling of being [tended to] on set. “When you’re the director, you’re the one in charge… Now, when I arrive on set, I get my makeup done, and I feel like a celebrity again!” she said. “Everyone calls me nanay (mother).”
But there is one thing she is dreading, however. “The memorization! I haven’t done a TV series in a while, so I fear I may be rusty. But so far, so good,” she said. Allan Policarpio
