AFTER PLAYING the lead role of Dorina Pineda in the stage adaptation of “Bituing Walang Ningning,” Monica Cuenco finally got her wish to wax a record under Viva Records.
Songwriters Thyro Alfaro and Yumi Lacsamana disclose that the performer’s upbeat offering, “Merong Pag-ibig,” brims with Monica’s exuberant positivity. It carries the message of being grateful for what we have in life.
The songstress confides that Megastar Sharon Cuneta has been a big influence on her since she joined “Star Power” when she was only 14 years old. Sharon hosted the talent tilt that would change the course of Monica’s life.
Monica put into practice the singing tips she received from her idol when she played Dorina (portrayed by Sharon in the original movie).
The music video of “Merong Pag-ibig” is getting good feedback from viewers of MTV Pinoy and Myx.
