Joy is the vice chair and general manager of the Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office, which gives away joy to its beneficiaries. He collaborates with specialist Dr. Nisa de Villa to boost his pet project to help indigent children awaiting kidney donors at Medical City.
At the Diamond Residences party, which began with Mass, Joy was thrilled to be surrounded by visitors from the horse-racing community, the Saturday Group of artists, former law classmates, work associates, friends and family members.
Performers who serenaded the partygoers included Basil Valdez, El Gamma Penumbra, Gerphil Flores and Erik Santos.
May 9 was a good excuse for Joy to celebrate Mother’s Day over lunch at Chef Jessie’s restaurant in Rockwell. Augustinian nuns, who are also recipients of his generous largesse, were among his guests.
