On Friday, Korean entertainment agency JYP Entertainment released an official statement saying Chinese-born Miss A member Meng Jia — more widely known simply as “Jia” — is to leave the quartet due to the expiration of her contract.
The agency added that both sides have decided not to extend the singer’s contract, while fellow Chinese-born member of the girl group Fei has renewed and will extend her career with JYP. Suzy and Min, the other two member of Miss A, are still under contract until next year, according to industry associates.
JYP Entertainment commented that Miss A will continue on as trio for future projects in store.
