The “May the 4th be with you” fever has not concluded.
After United States President Barack Obama and First Lady Michele Obama danced with Stormtroopers, an elite guardian army inspired from the movie saga ‘Star Wars’, another army of ‘Stormtroopers’ grooved in front of the judges and audience of British talent show “Britain’s Got Talent” over the weekend.
The dance troupe, “Boogie Storm”, impressed judges Simon Cowell, David Walliams, Alesha Dixon, and Amanda Holden with their dance mix of Psy’s “Gangnam Style”, Beyonce’s “Single Ladies”, Silento’s “Watch Me (Nae Nae)” and many more hits.
Cowell, the mainstay judge who was dubbed as the show’s “Darth Vader” and “Dark Lord”, pushed the Golden Buzzer button and swiftly commanded the army to the show’s semifinals.
“You know what, the dark side has taken over,” Cowell said. “I don’t know who you are, but I literally said ‘If we could find Stormtroopers who could dance, this show is going to go into a different league,’,” said Cowell. “My dream has come true. Thank you.”
The video clip, which was uploaded on video-sharing site YouTube, garnered an overwhelming 5.3 million views.
Despite Boogie Storm’s thrilling dance number, many social media users castigated Cowell on his Golden Buzzer choice. Many viewers found Cowell’s choice unfavorable against broadway singer Rachel Wooding, who got the nods of the judges but not a golden ticket to the semifinals. Gianna Francesca Catolico
