SORSOGON—With husband Sen. Francis “Chiz” Escudero placing fourth in the vice presidential race as of partial counting, Heart Evangelista expressed pride knowing that her husband fought the good fight.

The actress took to Twitter to show her support for the senator on Monday night, saying whatever happens in the 2016 elections, she will always be proud with the way Escudero held himself through the process.

“Proud of you darling. Kahit ano mangyari pinatunayan mo na MALINIS ka at di ka nanakit para lang manalo (Whatever happens, you’ve proven that you’re clean and not hurting anyone just to win). One of a kind,” she wrote.

One of the early front-runners for vice president in surveys, Escudero saw his numbers drop as May 9 drew closer.

As of 9 p.m., Escudero is still at fourth with 3,358,499 votes, behind Sen. Bongbong Marcos, Rep. Leni Robredo, and Sen. Alan Peter Cayetano.

Evangelista also followed up her tweet with another one, writing, “God bless the Philippines.”

The Escudero camp has yet to issue a statement on the ongoing canvassing.
