What stars would like to tell the next president

/ 12:20 AM May 09, 2016

This is it! Will it be a red-letter or red-alert day? As we eagerly or anxiously wait for the presidential election results, may we be at peace knowing that the choice we made is something our conscience can live with.

What a circus the election campaign has been! Show biz controversies pale in comparison to all the exposés of  the political parties involved.

Hopefully, after all the frenzy is over, it won’t just be more fun in the Philippines. But there will also be more funds that will go to where they really should.

Celebs let us in on what they would like to tell our next president:

FEATURED STORIES

Jose Mari Chan: In your first 100 days in office, help boost our agricultural sector. Protect farmers and farm workers.

Encourage the top 1 percent of our people to invest in agriculture.

Encourage job creation in the provinces to help decongest Metro Manila. Unify and dialogue with Congress to rid our government of the culture of corruption.

Gloria Diaz: Love  the Philippines. It is the only country we have.

Alden Richards: Please help this country progress. We do not need promises, we need results.

Rita Avila: God’s basic law is for us to love each other, yet most of us cannot follow [the golden rule]. How then can we follow man’s law? Dear president, if you can follow God’s basic law, perhaps then, more can follow it, too. More can love the country and our fellowmen.

Sandy Andolong: I hope and pray to God that you give and do only your best for love of our fellowmen and country!

Mark Bautista: My message is for you to stay as you are. Don’t let money and power corrupt your good morals or steal your principles…My prayer is for you to have compassion for the Filipino people. We count on you! Please, don’t fail us.

Epy Quizon: My only question for you is this: How true are your words?

Sid Lucero: The film industry is really booming. A little support would help the entire country. When I say support, I mean like how Bollywood is a part of its country (India). The Film Development Council of the Philippines (FDCP) needs a facelift. So does the Movie and Television Review and Classification Board (MTRCB).

Ronnie Lazaro: You have now the opportunity—a rare moment in life—to leave a mark that can last forever. Please make it a very good one. Our people need love.
