MAINE Mendoza and Alden Richards

MAINE Mendoza and Alden Richards

Alden Richards and Maine “Yaya Dub” Mendoza are set to shoot a movie in Italy. Since their phenomenal love team, “AlDub,” causes pandemonium wherever they go, crowd control during shooting here in Manila is almost impossible.

That’s why production people have opted to film them abroad. But with countless Pinoys in Italy, they will still get mobbed, for sure. Viva  ItaliaDub!

Cesar’s exhibit

FEATURED STORIES

Cesar Montano is truly an artist in every sense of the word. Aside from acting, directing, composing songs, singing and sculpting, Buboy (his nickname) also paints.

His solo painting exhibit at Kamuning Bakeshop (of my colleague, Wilson Lee Flores) was a success. Mother Lily Monteverde bought several of his paintings. It put Buboy on flashback mode.

“People think I started my career in Seiko Films’ ‘Machete,’” he says. “But actually my first appearance was  in Regal Films’  ‘Relasyon,’ as a bit player. So, I got excited when Mother Lily told me that she wanted me to do a film with Regal soon.”

Buboy is also eagerly awaiting the  completion of a coffee table book about his works of art. Just like his paintings, my BFF  Buboy is a masterpiece in the friendship department.

Vina’s daughter

I had a blast at the seventh birthday party of Vina Morales’ unica hija, Ceana, at Metro Tent last Saturday. The fab fete had a “Descendants” theme.  The proud mom told me that she had to Google what “Descendants” is all about.

I teased her, “This is such a lavish party. I can imagine what Ceana’s debut would be like.”

Some celebs who attended the party included Pops Fernandez, Aiko Melendez, Shaina Magdayao, Rufa Mae Quinto and her fiancé Trev

Magallanes, Priscilla Meirelles, Dimples Romana, Chavit Singson and Gladys Reyes.

Vina’s French boyfriend Marc Lambert was not around because he was in Switzerland.

According to Vina, Marc and Ceana get along well. Would she allow Ceana to join show biz? “She’s too young,” Vina quips.

But this early, she is already into singing—and she can carry a tune. Vina relishes how single motherhood has doubled the joys of parenting.

Aiko’s new love

Just like Vina, Aiko Melendez is blissfully happy with her boyfriend, Shahin Mirzapour.

I chided Aiko: “You could very well be named Miss United Nations, because after dating a Spanish guy, you’re now with a Persian.” We both had a good laugh. Aiko shared her thoughts about Shahin.

“We have a label for our relationship and clear standing in each other’s life. I’m done with a ‘no labels’ kind of relationship. I’m  happy because I can see that he’s serious about the relationship. He fought for me.

“He had a hard time getting my sweet ‘yes,’ that’s why  he values it. Shahin is 28 and is based here in Manila. After a long time, he’s the only one I openly admitted to having a relationship with, because he’s worth it.

“He gets along with my kids, but they have to bond some more. He is sweet, caring, and   broad-minded.”

May Aiko and Shahin’s romance be another triumphant celebration of interracial love.
