Four years after her breakup with John Lloyd Cruz, Shaina Magdayao says that she enjoys being single.

“I don’t think I’d stay unattached this long if I don’t find it OK to be alone. I’m still exploring and figuring out what I really want to do in life. In a way, I’m very much like Joey Girl,” the actress said of the character she plays in the Cinema One series, “Single/Single.”

Shaina said her past experiences have helped her become more mature. She elaborated, “These days, young people get into relationships because they think it’d make them feel complete. If you don’t feel whole as a person, you’ll always be looking for someone else to make you feel that way. What they should be doing, instead, is to have some time for themselves. They’ll find that sense of completeness within themselves—only they can fill that void.” Marinel R. Cruz
