Actress Heart Evangelista took to Instagram to defend her husband Sen. Francis “Chiz” Escudero from criticisms against the vice presidential candidate’s supposedly “robotic” or “monotonous” way of speaking.
Evangelista on Monday said Escudero, whose voice was compared by some netizens to the voiceover in the traffic navigation application “Waze” during the vice presidential debate, will lead Filipinos to the destination that they want to be at.
“Tulad ng Waze, gusto mo man o ayaw ang boses na nagsasalita sa app, dadalhin ka naman niya sa destinasyon na hangad mong puntahan,” Evangelista said, citing a certain J. Guiang.

“#SayChiz be like a flowing water. Only through its softness that it breaks the rock, and finds itself in the immensity of the sea,” she wrote.
Evangelista also praised her husband for “keeping his dignity” and “showing good character” during the first only and only government-sanctioned vice presidential debate last Sunday at the University of Santo Tomas.
“You stayed with the good and you kept your dignity. I am and will always be proud to be standing by you. At the end of the day? You are a good man,” she said.
The three-hour debate, which was attended by all six candidates for the second highest position in the land, zeroed in on the issues of corruption, poverty, political dynasties, human rights, peace and order, traffic, internet connectivity, and foreign policy. YG/JE
