A few days after her husband and National Youth Commission (NYC) Chairman Dingdong Dantes resigned his post to campaign for Liberal Party (LP) Vice-Presidential candidate Maria Leonor ‘Leni’ Robredo, Primetime Queen Marian Rivera – Dantes also threw her full support for the female candidate.
In an Instagram post on April 11 (Monday), Marian specified the reasons why she threw her trust and confidence on Robredo:
“Sa debate kagabi, naliwanagan ako sa kani-kaniyang mga pananaw ng mga kandidato sa pagka-Bise Presidente. Dahil diyan, lalong tumibay ang aking paniniwala na si Congresswoman Leni Robredo ang susuportahan ko. Hindi lang dahil siya rin ang napili ng aking asawa, maging ng marami kong kaibigan at kakilala, kundi dahil kinakitaan ko sya ng sinseridad, integridad, kakayahang mamuno at maglingkod lalo na sa mga kababaihan at manggagawa na nasa laylayan ng lipunan. “
(In the debate yesterday, I understood all the views of the vice-presidential candidates. Because of this, my belief and support for Congresswoman Leni Robredo intensified. Not only my husband (Dingdong) and many of my friends and acquaintances support her, but I also saw her integrity, sincerity, and capacity to rule and serve specially women and the marginalized workers.)
According to Marian, she admires Robredo for her dedication and passion for public service before she became a congresswoman.
Marian encouraged voters to study the personal background and political profile of all the candidates before casting their votes. “Sa mga wala pang napipiling susuportahan, magdasal at suriin pong mabuti ang bawat kandidato para makapag desisyon ng tama,” Marian advised.
