Young Hollywood comer Hailee Steinfeld blew into town earlier this week and promptly guested on “It’s Showtime” to promote her debut EP, “Haiz.”
The 19-year-old star’s appearance surprised her fans, who have excitedly followed her career ever since her breakthrough role as Mattie Ross in the 2010 remake of the western classic, “True Grit.”
Aside from her stellar looks and talent, Hailee connects with local viewers due to her “part-Filipino” parentage. She affirmed reports that her grandfather came from Bohol.
Steinfeld has impressed viewers ever since “True Grit,” which won her a slew of nominations and awards when she was only 13 years young. She won the prized role over 15,000 other auditionees (!), and has continued to cop attention-calling lead roles in films like “Ender’s Game,” “3 Days To A Kill,” “Pitch Perfect 2”—and as Juliet in “Romeo and Juliet.”
Obviously, her acting career is flying high, and her singing career is now also off to a good start with “Haiz.” It all fits in, because she counts among her friends in Los Angeles such young show biz pacesetters as Selena Gomez and Taylor Swift!
What’s up next for Hailee? Her schedule is really full, but if Star Cinema can work it out, it would be really great if she could agree to shoot a romantic film here with a fave Filipino costar!
