Kean Cipriano gets steamy in offbeat role

CIPRIANO

CIPRIANO

Kean Cipriano is enjoying the best of both worlds as Callalily’s vocalist and as an actor. The heartthrob shows a different side of him in a horror-comedy film, “Echorsis: Sabunutan between Good and Evil” (opens April 13),  where he portrays a gay  exorcist-priest.

Kean got steamy with hunky devils in the movie. His offbeat role made him do things he never thought he could pull off. The rocker related that he surprised  himself. Brace yourself for a  scarily funny movie experience.

Here’s my one-on-one with Kean:

If you had to choose between singing and acting, what would you give up?

Nothing, really. When I ask myself why I am singing and acting, I still can’t explain it.

I just enjoy them. I don’t realize what I’m doing until I watch my movie or listen to my new song.

Why did you and Chynna Ortaleza opt to keep your wedding low-key?

It’s hard to be private and public; we always say that it’s your choice to be quiet.

How did you know that Chynna is the one?

You know when you know. The whole universe will tell you. God will find ways to tell you about things you need in your life.

What’s your favorite scene in “Echorsis”?

The one with the bunch of naked dancers. I’m not saying it’s my fave because of their bodies. It defines me as an actor.

What’s your take on gay marriage?

I believe in equality. Every human is meant to love and be loved… no bounds. No one can dictate what love is all about.

If you were still single, would you be open to having a relationship with a gay man?

It’s a matter of preference. I prefer girls.

What’s your unsolicited advice for our next president?

Do what you have to do. Respect human rights. Please, no corruption. Just be fair.

In what way are you not a rock star?

I don’t consider myself a rock star. I’m just a  musician, a self-proclaimed artist. I’m just a person who loves to play and make  music.

If your life story were made into a song, what would the title be?

“Untitled Me.”
