Brother, 2 others to face inquest over Ram Revilla slay

CAMP VICENTE LIM, Laguna, Philippines–A witness has identified Ramon Joseph Bautista as the mastermind in the killing of his brother and actor Ram Revilla, 23, in their residence in Parañaque City, police on Tuesday said.

Ramon Joseph, 18, is in the custody of the Parañaque police after his arrest along a national highway in Bacoor, Cavite at around 11:30 p.m. Monday, Senior Superintendent Billy Beltran, Parañaque city police chief, said in a phone interview.

Beltran said the suspect was onboard a black Montero SUV accompanied by “some other siblings” when arrested.

He, however, did not give the names of the siblings or where in Bacoor the suspect was headed to.

Bacoor is a political bailiwick of the Revillas.

Beltran refused to give details as Ram Joseph and two other suspects identified as Michael Cruz Altia and Roy Francis Tolisora, who were earlier arrested, are to face prosecution on Tuesday.

He said the police are tracking down three to four more persons implicated in the murder.

Ram Revilla, Ramgen Jose Bautista in real life, was stabbed dead inside their home in BF Homes on October 28. The victim’s girlfriend, Janelle Manahan, was shot but survived.

Senator Ramon “Bong” Revilla has yet to issue a statement on the arrest of his half brother, his chief of staff Tyrove Olaivar said by phone.

The senator’s brother and Bacoor mayor Strike Revilla also refused to answer calls on his mobile phone.

The remains of the victim now lie in the chapel of the family-owned Angelus Eternal Garden in Imus, Cavite. His interment is set on Wednesday afternoon.
