Frencheska deserves another break
SANDY OLARTE, student: “Except for occasional TV guestings, I haven’t seen much of Frencheska Farr lately. It’s a pity, since she has a rare combination of exceptional talent and beauty. She made a big impression on viewers as the lead star of Chito Roño’s musical film, ‘Emir.’ New projects for Frencheska, please.”
Charlie Dayao, sous-chef: “‘Eat Bulaga’s’ ‘Traffic Diva’ proves once again that the noontime show knows what would click with its audience. A welcome distraction for drivers and commuters in Metro Manila’s horrendous traffic, it taps into the musicality of Pinoys in a unique way and rewards those who participate in the ‘instant talent tilt.’
“That ‘EB’ chose Aicelle Santos to handle the segment proves its uncanny knack for matching talent and personality with the right segment. Aicelle’s strong performing gifts make her perfect as the Traffic Diva.”
Jimmy Dales, televiewer: “The choice of Robin Padilla as one of the hosts of ‘Game ng Bayan’ is spot-on. His hosting style blends well with the show’s participants. He’s a natural.”
Gina Francisco, housewife: “Watch out for Adolf Alix Jr.’s ‘Whistleblower,’ if only because it features Nora Aunor and Laurice Guillen. I’ve always believed that Nora and Laurice have similar acting styles, which are of the ‘less is more’ variety. It’s no longer a question of who’s the better actress. Watching them on the silver screen is worth much more than the price of admission.”
Gil Isip, office employee: “The next presidential debate on March 20 on TV5 is reportedly aiming to be an improvement on the previous one—less commercials and more air time for the actual debate.
“It would also be better if the ‘presidentiables’ stick to the rules, make actual rebuttals and not resort to unnecessary banter with fellow candidates.”
