What celebs would do if the world were to end tomorrow

/ 06:02 PM May 22, 2011

MANILA, Philippines—The crazy story about the end of the world (May 21, 2011) spread like wildfire. For some strange reason, we Pinoys are suckers for such absurd tales.

Be that as it may, that preposterous prophecy is a timely reminder that life is indeed too short to stay too long in one place and spend it with one “face.” It prompted me to ask some celebrities about the one thing they’ve never ever done that they would do if the world were to end tomorrow.

Hmmm … I would snatch my true love (an ex of mine before he got married) away from his wife and spend the last few hours with him and my kids. In a way, my world ended when I lost him so it’s but fitting to be together when the world really vanishes.

Before it’s too late, we should live on the edge and risk it. So when we look back, we can really say that we lived well. Life is a terrible thing to waste.

FEATURED STORIES

Dingdong Dantes: “I would shave my head.”

Vicky Morales: “I would tell my loved ones all the mushiest things I haven’t told them before. Then we would look back and laugh at the silliest episodes in our lives while shamelessly feasting on the yummiest but most cholesterol- and uric acid-rich dishes and desserts.”

Martin Nievera: “I would love to open up schools and hospitals all over the country in areas where free education and medication are both geographically and financially impossible.”

Paolo Bediones: “I would gather people who I have yet to apologize because of pride or anger, and in another room gather people I know I may have offended at one point in my life and profusely apologize.”

John Estrada: “I would gather my family and kids and we’d pig out till we die. I’d buy a very expensive car and have a joyride all day. I’d give all my money to the poor.”

Richard Gomez: “I’d buy a sailboat, spend the last remaining hours in the boat with Lucy and Juliana, eat all the food we want and take lots of pictures.”

Aiza Seguerra: “I’d shop till I drop and ‘max out’ all my credit cards.”

Mark Bautista: “I would conquer my fear and go skydiving.”

Diana Meneses: “I would bring my whole family from Brazil to the Philippines and show them the beautiful islands and make them meet the warmest people in the world so they would understand why I am away from them.”

Tintin Bersola-Babao: “I have to try scuba diving and paragliding.”

Mr. Fu: “I would pamper myself and pray so that I will be beautiful inside and out on our final day. I would also declare it a ‘No Diet Day.’ Mahirap yata mag-pack-up ng gutom. Ilabas ang kanin at kare-kare. May ganun?”

Glaiza de Castro: “I would try skydiving.”

Drew Arellano: “Nothing, actually. I’ve done things I wanted to do and I am still doing whatever it is I feel like doing. I don’t need to wait for the end of the world before I live life to the fullest.”
