Maria Ozawa apologizes to Cesar Montano

WHEN news broke out on Thursday about Japanese sexy star Maria Ozawa’s “admission”  that she had a one-night stand with Cesar Montano (her leading man in “Nilalang”) on DJ Mo Twister’s “Good Times with Mo” podcast,  I immediately sent a message to Buboy (Cesar’s  nickname) in our private Viber chat group, along with Alvin Anson and Noel Cabangon (which we named “CesDolNoVin”).

His reply: “I was playing golf in Tagaytay. I had no idea that the issue about me was already trending in social media. Then, Maria sent me a message to clarify matters.”

With Buboy’s permission, let me share with you their text exchange. Here goes:

Maria: Did you see the news? What’s up with PH media? DJ Mo and I were joking about it in the podcast, but I didn’t know the news will pick it up. I’m sorry, Cesar—for the hassle.

Cesar: Yeah. A lot of people are calling and texting me about that. I know you aren’t the kind of person who would make up stories. Thanks for the text and concern.

Maria: The news really broke my heart. DJ Mo was joking about it, and I was flirting with the way I answered because I thought it would be better for his podcast to have a little entertainment. But this is too much. I will talk to Mo and tell him to stop saying whatever.

That was the end of their text exchange.

I was not able to tune in to the podcast. But based on what I read online, Maria was changing the topic, yet Mo persisted.

According to an Internet report, Mo bluntly asked Maria: “How many times did you have sex with Cesar? I really have a feeling that you did.”

I’m not surprised about Mo’s line of questioning. That’s his trademark style. I should know because we used to be cohosts in the defunct talk show, “Paparazzi.” And I was also a guest in the “Forbidden Questions” portion of his radio show on Magic 89.9, where I was grilled to no end. Stirring up controversy is his forte. He won’t be called “Twister” for nothing.

I’ve seen Mo’s soft side. I even defended him in this column when there were issues hounding him when we were still working together.

But this time, I just wonder how Mo would feel if Buboy would ask any girl whom he worked with the same questions he asked Maria based on presumptions alone.

Buboy is no saint. Yes, he is a ladies’ man, but more than that, he is a gentleman, no matter what.

Yaya Dub’s birthday

It was  Maine “Yaya Dub” Mendoza’s  first birthday (March 1) since her “AlDub” love team with Alden Richards hit the big time.

So that made her birthday this year extra special. Her fans  hosted a Coachella-inspired, bohemian-themed party for her. (Hence, the hashtag: #nicomainechella21.)

Maine thought she was attending an awards night at Centris Tent. So she was surprised to see all her loved ones there. Juan Carlo, the caterer, provided the chow.

The highlight of the fete was the AVP especially prepared by Nice Print. It featured interviews with Yaya Dub’s family, former teachers and classmates which were shot in Maine’s alma mater in Bulacan.

Alden Richards was not around. Probably, her kalyeserye love team partner opted for a private celebration.

As she turned 21, Yaya Dub had no need to make birthday wishes anymore. What else can she ask for?

Carrot Man

After Yaya Dub, the newest Internet sensation is the Carrot Man (Jeyrick Sigmaton). He’s an Igorot farm boy who’s definitely star material.

The Carrot Man had guested on several TV shows. I heard that he has a handler already. So soon, huh?

Hopefully, his exposure to city life won’t corrupt him. His naïveté and simplicity make his charms stand out, so he should not let show biz get to him.

Is his peaceful life amid carrots worth trading for the frenzied city life full of “charot” (fakes)?
