Cesar Montano ‘succumbs to heart attack’ in ‘telenovela’

Almost the same day actor Cesar Montano’s name became trending topic online, his character was killed in a prime-time soap opera.

In TV5’s “Bakit Manipis ang Ulap,” Montano plays Ricardo Alarcon, who succumbed to what looked like a heart attack in Thursday’s episode. In his final scene, he is fighting for his life on a hospital bed, saying goodbye to Claudine Barretto’s character.

Montano became talk of the town when former adult film actress Maria Ozawa admitted in a radio podcast interview they had a very intimate moment once.

Montano and Ozawa did a movie together titled “Nilalang”, which was an entry in last year’s Metro Manila Film Festival.

“Bakit Manipis ang Ulap” is a remake of a 1985 film by the late legendary director Danny Zialcita.

As of posting, Montano can’t be reached for comment on the issue with Ozawa.

In the middle of this controversy, alot of netizens, meanwhile, labeled him “isang alamat (legendary)” and “pambansang bayani (national hero)”. TVJ
