Spinoff on story of Jesus’ resurrection to open in cinemas
Movie enthusiasts, especially those who are devout Christians, have something special to see this coming Holy Week.
“Risen,” a movie spinoff on the Biblical story of the resurrection of Jesus, will premiere on March 2 in SM Cinemas.
As seen through the eyes of an unbelieving Roman tribune, the movie tells the story of Clavius and his search for Yeshua of Nazareth following the weeks of his crucifixion and reported rising from the dead.
Clavius (Joseph Fiennes) and his aide Lucius (Tom Felton) are commanded by the prefect Pontius Pilate to make sure that Yeshua’s followers don’t salvage his remains from a cave tomb.
After the body goes missing, Clavius, together with his men, begins his search mission.
