ROSELLE IMBO, housewife: “Stars owe it to their fans to look their best all the time, and that includes making sure that they’re in fighting trim. It’s a pity to see some actresses prematurely portraying mother roles on TV.
“On a positive note, some stars still look beautiful and fit despite their age and motherhood, like Dawn Zulueta, Lucy Torres and Eula Valdez. These ‘ageless’ stars are a sight for sore eyes.
“On the other hand, I was surprised to see a skinny Julie Anne San Jose in the ‘Chika Minute’ segment of ‘24 Oras.’ She has to take it easy in her weight-loss regimen, unless she wants to look like ‘Little Nanay’s’ Kris Bernal.”
Other notes:
Liza Ador, office employee: “It’s welcome news that Claudine Barretto is finally headlining a teleserye on TV5. I hope ‘Bakit Manipis Ang Ulap?’ rates well. She should also do a follow-up movie after getting good notices for her performance in ‘Etiquette for Mistresses.’”
Slow pacing
Gemma Redoble, televiewer: “After the painfully slow pacing of ‘Pangako Sa ’Yo’ on its final days, the series rushed its ending by having its characters deliver monologues to fast-track its storytelling.
By the way, can someone tell Jodi Sta. Maria to lower the pitch of her voice? It’s distracting.”
Rosie Salazar, accountant: “Please tell Ces Drilon to consult a fashion stylist. Those mini-sleeves make her look like a body builder.”
