Best-selling Chinese-Australian author and poet Lang Leav has granted the wish of a fan of the love team of Alden Richards and Maine Mendoza, also known as “AlDub,” just in time for Valentine’s Day.
Leav posted “Stars in Love,” a poem which was inspired by the AlDub tandem, on her social media accounts on Sunday.
“Hope you like it @mainedcm Happy Valentine’s Day! #ALDUBisLove #ALDUBHappyValentines,” the poet said.
The poem read:
We were two old souls
since time began—
before light was measured
in years.
We are stars that fell
from glittering skies,
to find each other here.
It started when Twitter user @JimCTA39 asked Leav if she could write a poem for his idols.
Leav said that she would write the AlDub-inspired poem—only if Mendoza would ask her to make one.
She also noted that Richards and Mendoza “look cute together.”
The thought of having a poem written by her favorite author seemed to excite Mendoza. She then replied: “oh my gosh thank you, make it happen pretty please.”
Leav is known for her international best-selling books “Love and Misadventures,” “Lullabies,” and “Memories.”
Leav’s post has since been liked by 39,000 Facebook users as of this writing. AJH
