Our eyes always seek beauty to admire and gaze upon. But, man’s materialistic philosophy often glorifies what’s grotesque and ugly, which is prominently manifested during Halloween. Some thoughts to ponder upon:
People have no natural attraction to skeletons and skulls. Why do we display them outside our homes during Halloween?
On Halloween, some parents spend money to dress up their children in grotesque costumes and weird masks – the uglier their kids look, the “better”!
Young kids are innocent by nature; they’re fun-loving and playful. They have no desire to hurt others. In one newspaper, however, a child was shown holding a knife, bearing huge cuts on his arm to depict a crazy criminal. This glorifies violence.
Entities
Ghosts, goblins and witches are entities of the dark underworld. More enlightened beings stay away from depicting such a gloomy existence. But, on Halloween, some parents see such creatures as entertaining and acceptable!
Halloween isn’t a tradition practised by enlightened beings – it’s unhealthy, both spiritually and physically. Replace it with better activities for children to engage in to help them achieve a higher level of existence!
