FE AUSTERO, student: “Janella Salvador deserves a followup after the impressive showing of ‘Haunted Mansion’ at the tills. Her starrer was among the MMFF’s top earners.”

Dwight Lucina, student: “After ‘My Bebe Love,’ what can the AlDub team do for an encore? A teleserye titled ‘God Gave Me You,’ if reports are true! —How clever!”

Other notes:

Dennis Ferrer, office employee: “Just to feel first-hand how AlDub fans would react to the popular stars’ first movie outing together, I decided to watch ‘My Bebe Love’—and I wasn’t disappointed. Their followers shrieked and swooned every time Alden Richards and Maine Mendoza appeared onscreen!

“They had a different reaction when it was Ai-Ai delas Alas’ turn onscreen. Why does she have to shout most of the time? She was the reason I didn’t finish watching the movie—I couldn’t stand her shouting! If there’s any consolation, it was nice seeing the lovely Valeen Montenegro (as Vic Sotto’s secretary). More roles for her, please!”

Leigh Formilleza-De Armas: “Jessica Soho has always been my favorite news anchor because of her sincerity and fairness. She digs deep into an issue and doesn’t resort to the alarming tone used by other news anchors.”

Jose Mari Maycacayan, marketing consultant: “The past year was relatively a good one for the local movie industry. My three best films are ‘Heneral Luna,’ ‘Dahling Nick’ and ‘The Breakup Playlist.’

“My best performers: Sarah Geronimo for ‘The Breakup Playlist,’ Jericho Rosales for ‘Walang Forever,’ Dawn Zulueta for ‘Love Affair,’ Iza Calzado for ‘Haunted Mansion,’ Therese Malvar for ‘Hamog’ and John Arcilla for ‘Heneral Luna.’ —Here’s hoping that 2016 will be even better.”
