“Fabulous,” that was Tony-winning Filipino singer-actress Lea Salonga’s swift reaction upon learning that future costar Rachel Bloom had just won a Golden Globe best actress in a musical-comedy series, for “Crazy Ex-Girlfriend.”
Salonga had just shared on Facebook that she would be guesting in the season finale of Bloom’s acclaimed CW series when the Globes show went on air last Sunday in the United States. Salonga told the Inquirer via Facebook Messenger: “Oh my gosh, she and I have never met, but given what the show is, I am thrilled for her! Can’t wait to meet her and congratulate her in person!”
After the Broadway musical, “Allegiance,” wraps up on Broadway on Feb. 14, Salonga will fly to Los Angeles to tape the show. “I haven’t received a copy of the script yet.” So, stay tuned. Bayani San Diego Jr.
