Ogie Alcasid, host of the TV5 talent tilt, “Born to be a Star,” recalls how his wife Regine Velasquez ended up a surprise wedding singer in Boracay. “Truth is, we needed cash (laughs). We were walking back to our hotel when we saw that there was a wedding party near the beach. There was a band, but the guests weren’t dancing! I dared Regine: Sampa ka (Go up the stage)! So, she did. When she sang: ‘First, I was afraid…’ (from ‘I Will Survive’), the gays (in the audience) went wild. You know how crazy my wife is… We earned P12,000 that night!” Not bad for a wedding crasher.
