Here’s our stellar trio for 2016: Fr. Fernando Suarez, for the gift of healing.
Leila de Lima. This Bicolana, who’s now running for senator, was class valedictorian. She placed eighth in the bar exams and soon put up her own law office. In 2008, she became chair of the Commission on Human Rights and, two years later, was appointed secretary of the Department of Justice.
Like Leila, former policeman and senator Fred Lim is also aiming high. He’s running for mayor again to bring back free education, hospitalization, birthing and burial services for Manila residents. He says it isn’t true that he left the city treasury empty. At Bulong Pulungan at Sofitel, he showed a signed statement disproving the allegation.
Happy New Year, dear readers!
