Get ready to scream your hearts out at Rakrakan Festival

In 10 days, the vast green expanse of the Globe Circuit Events Ground, Circuit Makati will be invaded by throngs of black-clad mortals ready to scream, dance, and jump their hearts out at arguably the biggest, loudest, and most exciting all-OPM festival brand in the country this 2015 and in recent years: “Rakrakan Festival: Rock ‘Til You Drop!

Happening on December 19, Rakrakan Festival ’15 will again feature 70 mainstream and indie musicians on 3 stages: the Mosh, Move, and Groove. The Mosh stage will showcase loud-and-heavy rock, hardcore, and metal music from Rakrakan Festival regulars Slapshock, Queso, Wilabaliw, Chicosci, Kjwan, Skychurch, and Valley of Chrome; while 2014’s crowd favorites Urbandub (note: this will be their last gig before going on hiatus!), Rocksteddy, Callalily, Mayonnaise, Gracenote, 6cyclemind, and Drive Me to Juliet will be moving crowds at the Move stage once more; whereas reggae-heads and those with a penchant for chill, “peaceful” rhythms will again indulge in the music of Tropical Depression, Brownman Revival, Jeck Pilpil and Peacepipe, The Chongkeys, Autotelic, Flying Ipis, and Tricia Garcia at the Groove stage.

In addition to these recurring artists, Rakrakan Festival ’15 will, for the first time, see performances from Wolfgang, The Late Isabel, and Cebu-based Faspitch at the Mosh; Franco, all-female band Rouge, and 2014 Red Horse Beer PML champion Nobela at the Move; and Paranoid City, BP Valenzuela, Taken By Cars, and Techy Romantics at the Groove, among others (for full lineup, visit https://rakrakanfestival.com/bands/).

Aside from its impressive band lineup, Rakrakan Festival ’15 will also bring back its annual Merch Bazaar featuring not less than 60 local brands such as Nick Automatic, Evil Genius, D Grave Apparel, Turbohectic, Frankenstee, and Medisina; Food Bazaar c/o Andok’s, Hero Sausages, Sbarro, Master Siomai, and others; an open skate jam session and mini competition at the Mountain Dew Skate Park; and the new Street Art Exhibition, which will award the 3 best street art crews at the festival. Many other activities such as face painting, henna tattooing (in select merch bazaar booths), band meet-and-greet and free Segway rides (for VIP pass holders), and tons of Red Horse beer and super discounted stuff from Dickies and Draven shoes will be there to satiate everyone’s Rakrakan Festival ’15 experience.
