‘Bambanti’ wins in Qatar

Zig Dulay’s “Bambanti” won the Hilal Best Feature Film award at the Ajyal Youth Film Festival in Doha, Qatar. Ajyal means “generations” in Arabic, and the fest “aims to invite people of all ages to come together to discuss cinema.” According to its site, the fest is “designed to empower the region’s youth and inspire film enthusiasts.” A Sinag Maynila entry, “Bambanti” previously won in fests in Belgium and India. Bayani San Diego Jr.
