U-Kiss’ Soohyun comments on Eli’s sudden marriage

Soohyun from boy group U-Kiss commented on his group-mate Eli’s sudden marriage announcement via Twitter on Saturday.
“We are sorry to surprise you with the unexpected news. It’s heartbreaking to think of how difficult it must have been for Eli to keep the news, not having the courage to speak out in public,” wrote Soohyun.
“I hope you support Eli as well as the baby who is about to be born. Our group will be the same as usual despite this occasion and will focus on communication with fans. I am sincerely sorry as a leader of U-Kiss.”
Eli, 24, made a surprise announcement on the same day on Instagram that he married a woman 11 years his senior last year, not having an official wedding ceremony until now. His wife is currently three months’ pregnant.
Following Eli, his agency NH EMG once again confirmed the news with details.

Overcoming the 11-year age difference, Eli and his wife have been in a romantic relationship for five years. Though his wife worked as a model, she is currently on a break for her pregnancy.
The couple registered their marriage on June 5 last year and Eli confessed the news to our agency around October. Though we were astonished about his sudden confession, we decided to accept the fact.
Eli even did not hold an official wedding ceremony, in consideration of the huge impact it would have on the group members as well as the agency.
Meanwhile, we were actively discussing the right time to take the news public, after hearing in early November that Eli’s wife was pregnant.
However, Eli felt apologetic to the agency and group members for unexpectedly announcing his personal news via Instagram on Saturday, due to the heavy burden he felt for avoiding the public eye concerning his family.
Despite negative responses regarding his marriage at a young age and as an idol, we hope that people abstain from malicious comments targeting Eli.
Eli’s prearranged schedule will move on as usual including shooting for Korean-Chinese film and other overseas schedules.
