President Aquino retains Fernando Poe Jr.’s daughter as MTRCB head

President Benigno Aquino III has retained Grace Poe-Llamanzares as head of the Movie and Television Review and Classification Board (MTCRB).

Deputy presidential spokesperson Abigail Valte on Sunday said Mr. Aquino had signed the reappointment papers of Llamanzares, whose post and that of her board members all expired last Sept. 30.

The MTCRB members only serve a one-year term.

It was not clear whether the President had also reappointed all the 33 other board members.

“The President has signed the appointment papers (for MTCRB). I think there is just one particular board seat that is being fixed but the papers have been signed. The MTCRB should be okay,” Valte said.

Valte also announced over state radio dzRB more appointments made by Mr. Aquino.
