Rachelle Ann wins in West End for ‘Les Miz’

Rachelle Ann Go won best performance in a long-running West End show (female) for her work as Fantine in the London production of “Les Miserables” at the Broadway World UK Awards on Thursday. Last year, Go won best featured actress in a musical in the same theater derby for playing Gigi in “Miss Saigon.”

Compatriot Jon Jon Briones won best performance in a long-running West End show (male) for his role as The Engineer in “Miss Saigon.” Briones and Filipino-Mexican-American Eva Noblezada (as Kim) will reprise their roles in the Broadway revival of “Miss Saigon” in 2017.

Go will play Fantine in the Manila staging of “Les Miz” next year. Bayani San Diego Jr.
