“I KNOW I will eventually regret my decision if I turn down the project,” said actor Gerald Anderson on playing a third wheel to the popular tandem of Liza Soberano and Enrique Gil (LizQuen) in Star Cinema’s latest romantic comedy “Every Day I Love You.”
“I always want projects that will challenge me,” Gerald said, adding that it took a bit of convincing for him to accept it because the script wasn’t finished when the project was first presented to him.
“It’s the first time I’m playing this role. I got interested in it when it was explained to me in detail why they wanted me to do it. Looking at it now, I can say that I’m very happy with the outcome,” he said.
“I met some of the LizQuen fans at an event in Laguna and I found them very nice,” he recalled. “The support they give to Liza and Quen (Enrique’s nickname) is amazing.”
Gerald only has good words for LizQuen. “I first worked with Quen in ‘Budoy’ and I already knew then that he loves acting. I saw it in his eyes. He’s a natural.”

He said he was amazed at how Liza was able to deliver a powerful performance at a very young age. “I kept asking her, ‘Are you sure you’re only 17?’ It’s pretty amazing that she is able to show how her character feels when she hasn’t experienced all these emotions herself,” Gerald pointed out.
Gerald has come a long way since his first show biz project, “Love Spell,” which he made when he was only 17. “It was at that age when I started to fall in love with acting. I’ll be celebrating my 10th anniversary next year.”
He added, “I’ve changed a lot as an actor and as a person. I’m now more responsible. I’m protective of my family. I work hard for their future. Show biz changed my life.”
He said “grateful” was not enough to describe how he currently feels, “especially now that I’m able to build a home for my mom because of my work. I’ve managed to secure my dad and siblings’ future. They’re all set. I’ve learned to never be complacent, because there will always be guys who are more handsome, more talented and younger than I am.”
The actor said: “It really doesn’t matter who I am working with. What’s more important is whether or not I am able to breathe life into the character I’m tasked to portray. That’s how every actor should think.”
