Neck Deep Live in Manila

PULP Live World and 28 Black proudly announces NECK DEEP Live in Manila this January 28, 2016 at Skydome, SM North EDSA, Quezon City. The show will mark the first time the Welsh modern pop-punk heroes will play in Manila. The band is touring in support of their second full-length album Life’s Not Out to Get You, which was hailed as “A very important album! (KKKKK)” by Kerrang!, “The album you’ve been craving! (4.5/5)” by Alternative Press and “Album of the year? Quite Possibly. (9/10)” byRock Sound. Neck Deep is set to rock Skydome with their energetic pop-punk anthems and immensely relatable acoustic songs such as “A Part of Me,” “Gold Steps,” “December” and “Can’t Kick Up the Roots,” among many others.

Comprised of vocalist Ben Barlow, bassist Fil Thorpe-Evans, drummer Dani Washington and rhythm guitarist Matt West, the band was accidentally formed out of Barlow’s desire to record pop-punk songs mainly influenced by the likes of New Found Glory, The Wonder Years, early Green Day and the Descendents for fun. They were named after a line from the Crucial Dudes’ song “Boom, Roasted.” The songs Neck Deep first posted online gained an overwhelming and unexpected clamor for the band to tour. Their sold-out shows gained for them the attention of iconic pop-punk bastion Hopeless Records, who signed them in 2013. With the band’s 2014 full-length debut album Wishful Thinking, the Neck Deep gained headlining tours in the US and UK, an invitation to be part of Warped Tour, the 2014 Kerrang! Award for Best British Newcomer and being listed by Rock Sound as one of the 51 Most Essential Pop-Punk Albums of All Time.  The record charted at number 108 in the UK album chart, #2 on both the Rock and Record Store charts, #6 on the Independent Album Breakers chart and #14 on the Independent Albums chart. In the US,Wishful Thinking  charted on the Billboard Heatseekers chart at #3 and #35 on the Independent Albums chart. The prolific band then released the aforementioned Life’s Not Out to Get You, which charted at #8 in the UK charts, #17 in the US Billboard Charts and the top spot in both countries’ Independent Album charts.

When asked about their status as leaders of the modern pop-punk generation by music website Bring The Noise UK, Ben Harlos said, “I don’t think we are THE leaders, but if people see it as that, I mean there’s a lot of other good bands out there doing some really good stuff so I don’t think we’re the only ones. But, to be part of that whole revival is awesome considering we are all big pop-punk fans.
