Zambales bet wins Miss Republic of the Philippines

Fermira Dianne Ramos bested 34 other aspirants for the 2015 Miss Republic of the Philippines title in a four-hour pageant that ended past midnight on Thursday.

Zambales-based Ramos, one of the oldest delegates at age 25, took home a four-year scholarship grant, a one-year management contract with the pageant’s organizers, and P100,000 in cash and gifts and services from the sponsors.

She was also proclaimed Best in Philippine Terno, Miss Megadata Corp. USA, and Miss Via Mare.

The special title Miss Republic of the Philippines-International, awarded to one of the delegates from overseas Filipino communities, went to Milan’s Beatrice Valente who was also Miss Congeniality.

One of the heavy favourites, 20-year-old Joselle Mariano from Cavite, received a runner-up spot and was proclaimed Miss Luzon. She was also best in Swimsuit, Miss Talent, Miss Pleasant Touch, Miss Astoria and Miss Halcyon.

Valenzuela’s Sheila Marie Reyes, 21, was Miss Visayas. She was also Miss Photogenic and Miss Fisher Mall.

The last runner-up spot with the corresponding title Miss Mindanao went to 23-year-old Kristie Rose Cequeňa from Sta. Rosa, Laguna.

Joy Conde, 1976 Miss Republic of the Philippines, relinquished her title to Ramos.
