Ten performing acts battled for the P2-million cash prize in the Season 3 finale of the reality-talent show “Pilipinas Got Talent” (PGT) last night at the Pagcor Grand Theater Airport Casino Filipino in Parañaque City.
The results show will be held tonight in the same venue.
PGT is based on the “Got Talent” franchise, a British TV format conceived and owned by Simon Cowell’s Syco entertainment company.
Among the finalists are the shadow play group El Gamma Penumbra; the acrobatic troupe Synergy; the Maasinhin Trio from Southern Leyte; young singer Renagine Pepito of Cagayan de Oro; the Loverkada Kids; the singing group Twin Divas; Jefferson and Kurt Bringas, aka. the Acoustic brothers; the reggae band Sandugo from Laguna; Fil-Nigerian diva Muriel Lomadilla; and siblings act Lucky Twin.
PGT’s previous winners are Jovit Baldovino and Marcelino Pomoy, both singing acts.
PGT’s third season premiered on July 9. Auditions were held in Baguio, Manila, Batangas, Cebu, Bacolod, Tacloban, Iloilo, Cagayan de Oro, Davao, and General Santos City. There were also online auditions.
PGT airs live at 8:30 p.m. on ABS-CBN.
